[xAI Responds to Grok Build Uploading Complete Code Repository: All Previous User Data Will Be Cleared]
According to monitoring by Beating, xAI has responded to the controversy surrounding Grok Build uploading the complete code repository. The official statement clarified that teams enabling Zero Data Retention (ZDR) will not have their code or operational records saved. Usage of Grok Build via API keys also adheres to this setting. Users who have not enabled ZDR can input /privacy in the CLI to disable data retention. Previously synchronized data will also be deleted. Grok Build's lead Andrew Milich stated that after modifying privacy settings, the system will retroactively delete already synchronized data. Elon Musk subsequently announced that, as a precautionary measure, SpaceXAI will completely delete all previously uploaded user data, leaving no content behind. However, this response primarily explained how to stop saving and delete data. xAI has yet to clarify why Grok Build defaults to uploading the entire Git repository. [Original Link]
