Meta says they're expanding their original computing power center to 5GW, so the rumors about not lacking computing power have been completely debunked. When the fundamentals are fine, but shorts deliberately spread some news to crash the market, should you sell first, stay put, or even add to your position? At first, I thought this was a good opportunity from an overreaction, and selling didn’t align with my understanding of the fundamentals. I even asked a few friends at Meta and in Silicon Valley—computing power is in crazy short supply, so how could it not be lacking? My judgment was correct. But I was still wrong. The mistake was putting too much faith in the fundamentals as support and ignoring the volume of selling pressure from shorts or profit-takers. The news was just a tool used to assist the sell-off and feed the media. The right move would’ve been to temporarily sell, or hold the position steady, but also set a clear exit point in case my judgment was wrong.
