🏁 STEPNathon 2
The Townhall opened with a quick look back at STEPNathon 2.
The event brought back the 21 km and 42 km single session challenge format on STEPN and STEPN GO, with Genesis Sneaker raffles and exclusive rewards depending on the app and distance completed.
This time, teams were also part of the experience, with extra rewards for the top team.
Special shoutout to Team Achiever for taking the top spot in the STEPNathon team contest.
🌍 STEPN Around the World
The Townhall also revisited STEPN Around the World 2026, which is still ongoing.
The event is built around enhancement and country skins tied to the 48 nations competing in this summer’s football world cup, with a 500,000 GMT reward pool, 15 AFA Genesis Sneakers via raffle, and 15 signed AFA jerseys.
The team also highlighted another Legendary Trophy Sneaker Event, giving users another chance to get brand new Trophy Sneakers through a 48 hour GGBox campaign.
🏅 New badges
Two new Badges recently went live in the app:
🔹 High Voltage
🔹 Sky Is The Limit
High Voltage tracks how much daily Energy a user has managed to reach in at least one Realm. Sky Is The Limit is focused on GST Cap progression.
Both badges are designed to reward long term progression and recognize how far users have pushed their account over time.
🎟️ Challenge Capsule
Challenge Capsule was the main product topic of this Townhall. The team shared that the beta testing phase is now over.
A few highlights from the beta:
🔸 500 participants were invited to test the feature
🔸 The team reviewed bug reports and implemented improvements based on community feedback
🔸 All eligible beta testers received the Bestest Beta Tester badge
Challenge Capsule itself is built around movement, task completion, reward opportunities, and discovery.
The core loop is simple:
🔹 Open a Capsule by paying an entry fee
🔹 Unlock the challenge
🔹 Complete it within a limited time using STEPN or STEPN GO
🔹 Have the activity verified through the SMAC anti cheating system
🔹 Receive a Ticket if successful
🔹 Use that Ticket in the prize draw for the Capsule
And importantly:
🔸 The more Tickets a user enters, the higher their chances of winning
🔸 If the challenge is failed, no Ticket is granted and the entry fee goes into the prize pool instead
The Townhall also explained how users can earn more Tickets beyond the base completion reward.
For STEPN GO:
🔹 Users can switch to Charm run by tapping the Charm slot on the main screen
🔹 The higher the Charm value is, and the more Energy is used, the more Tickets can be earned
🔹 A small tip shared during the Townhall: wait a few seconds before starting the run after switching modes, so the server has time to register the change properly
For STEPN:
🔹 Resilience is the key attribute
🔹 Resilience must be above 500 to start earning Tickets through Mystery Boxes
🔹 Ticket boxes have a special tag to differentiate them from normal ones
🔹 The higher the Resilience and the higher the Mystery Box quality, the more Tickets users can get
Overall, the team positioned Challenge Capsule as a broader challenge and reward framework that adds more gamification and future campaign flexibility across both STEPN and STEPN GO.
🌈 Rainbow Capsule
Challenge Capsule is not launching quietly. Its launch event is the Rainbow Capsule, the biggest Capsule introduced so far.
Here are the main points:
🔸 It starts with a guaranteed prize pool of 1,000,000 GMT
🔸 Entry fees are added to the prize pool as users join
🔸 If all 10,000 slots are filled, the total prize pool could reach 2,000,000 GMT
🔸 Only the first 10,000 users can enter
To participate:
🔹 Users join the Rainbow Capsule by paying GMT
🔹 The required challenge is to consume at least 5 Energy
🔹 Users can then earn extra Tickets through Charm Runs on STEPN GO and through Mystery Boxes from high Resilience Sneakers on STEPN
🔹 Those Tickets can be entered into the Rainbow Capsule
🔹 The more Tickets entered, the larger the potential share of the prize pool
But there’s also a community twist:
🔸 The Rainbow Capsule does not activate automatically
🔸 From July 14 to July 31, participants need to collectively spend 200,000 Energy to activate the event
🔸 If the community reaches that target, then up to 2,000,000 GMT can be distributed among participants based on their Ticket contribution
So while the Capsule includes individual strategy, it also depends on a collective community effort.
🏆 Capsule Badges
The Townhall also introduced a new Badge layer tied specifically to Challenge Capsule activity.
These Badges are designed to reward different kinds of participation across the system.
🔹 Overcoming Challenges, earned by failing one Challenge
🔹 Challenger of all Trades, earned by completing one Common, one Uncommon, and one Rare Challenge
🔹 Challenge Capsule Champion, earned by opening Capsules, whether completed or failed
🔹 Challenge Capsules for Breakfast, based on successfully completed Capsules
🔹 Ticket Champion, based on the total number of Tickets obtained
The team also noted that some of these badges are designed as long term goals.
