[Meta Faces $1.4 Trillion Fine, Accused of Violating Minors' Rights]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, four U.S. states have jointly accused Meta of using addictive algorithms to lure minors and concealing their negative impact on teenagers' mental health, with claims reaching up to $1.4 trillion. A total of 29 states across the U.S. have filed lawsuits on this matter. Meanwhile, the European Commission has issued a preliminary report under the Digital Services Act, demanding that Meta modify addictive designs such as 'autoplay' and 'infinite scrolling,' or face a massive fine amounting to 6% of its global annual revenue. Meta denies the allegations and stated it will continue to defend itself. (Global Times)
