Weekend Review: PA Learning
A lot of people studying Al Brooks' price action (PA) tend to get stuck memorizing patterns:
❌ Wedge
❌ Double Top/Bottom
❌ Second Entry
But these are just the results.
The real core logic boils down to one thing:
First, identify the trend. Then, wait for the trend to end with TBTL (Two Legs, Ten Bars). Finally, look for a high-probability Second Entry. The reason is that trends rarely end abruptly without any warning.
Here’s a mind map to outline the entire framework:
Trend
↓
⚠️ Trend Ends
↓
⏳ TBTL (Two Legs, Ten Bars)
The market usually doesn’t reverse immediately. Instead, it goes through about 10 bars and at least two swings to rebalance the bulls and bears.
↓
Reversal Patterns (Wedge / Double Top / Double Bottom / H&S)
These are the most common structures in the context of TBTL.
↓
Second Entry
Wait for the market to complete the first test, then look for a higher-probability entry.
↓
Trend Continuation or True Reversal
One of my takeaways:
Many traders focus on patterns, but Al Brooks focuses on market behavior (Price Action).
When you start thinking from the perspective of “Why does the market need two legs and ten bars?” instead of memorizing wedges, double tops, or second entries, the entire price action system truly starts to come together.
