[OpenAI Responds to High Compute Mode Prompt Issues: Codex and ChatGPT Work Quotas Urgently Reset]
Tibo, a core member of OpenAI Codex, posted on the X platform stating that it had previously been too easy for users to enable high compute mode without adequately explaining its impact on usage quotas. This led to issues with certain multi-agent workflows, plugin functionalities, and other experiences, even causing some users to mistakenly believe that Codex would be phased out in the future.
In response, the first batch of improvements has been urgently rolled out, including adjustments to default settings and the model selector to prevent users from inadvertently using high-cost configurations. Additionally, Codex and ChatGPT Work usage quotas have been urgently reset twice. The next round of updates is expected to go live next week, with conversation and project functionalities returning to the sidebar in a more familiar and customizable format. At the same time, visibility into high compute mode usage quotas and reset times will be enhanced, further clarifying the respective use cases for ChatGPT Work and Codex.
