[High-Compute Mode Causes User Confusion, OpenAI Urgently Resets Codex and ChatGPT Work Quotas] According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on July 11, OpenAI Codex core member Tibo stated in a post that the previous ease of enabling high-compute mode for users, without adequately explaining its impact on usage quotas, had caused issues with certain multi-agent workflows, plugin functionalities, and other experiences. This even led some users to mistakenly believe that Codex would be phased out in the future. Currently, the first batch of improvement measures has been urgently introduced, including adjustments to default settings and the model selector to prevent users from inadvertently using high-cost configurations. Additionally, Codex and ChatGPT Work usage quotas have been reset twice. The next round of updates is expected to go live next week, with conversation and project functionalities returning to the sidebar in a more familiar and customizable format. At the same time, visibility into high-compute mode usage quotas and reset times will be enhanced, further clarifying the respective use cases for ChatGPT Work and Codex.
