The real corporate battle. Apple has announced a lawsuit against ChatGPT's parent company, OpenAI, accusing it of stealing Apple's trade secrets, with a ton of details exposed. In the lawsuit, Apple claims that OpenAI has been encouraging a large number of poached Apple employees to secretly download internal Apple documents before leaving the company, then take them to OpenAI to help develop its own hardware products. The lawsuit also targets former Apple VP Don Tan, who allegedly encouraged Apple employees to provide information about unreleased Apple products during their job interviews with OpenAI. This guy later joined OpenAI full-time as the head of hardware. Additionally, an iPhone hardware engineer named Liu Chang is also being sued. He is accused of downloading dozens of confidential Apple hardware-related documents during his tenure and taking them to OpenAI. According to Apple, OpenAI has been coaching soon-to-depart Apple employees, advising them not to disclose their plans to join OpenAI while still at Apple, and to download as much internal information as possible before leaving. This involves potentially over 400 employees who worked at Apple and later joined OpenAI, all happening as OpenAI approaches its IPO. Looks like Musk wasn’t wrong about people—Sam’s really a shady guy. #CorporateDrama #AppleVsOpenAI #TechNews
