OpenAI Expected to Cease Development of Standalone Browser ChatGPT Atlas on August 9, Features to Be Integrated into New Desktop App OpenAI has announced it will discontinue its standalone desktop browser, ChatGPT Atlas, with its features being integrated into the newly released ChatGPT desktop application. OpenAI stated that Atlas is expected to be officially discontinued on August 9, and migration guidance will be provided via in-app notifications and emails. The new ChatGPT desktop app integrates ChatGPT Work Agent and ChatGPT Codex, and includes full browser capabilities. Additionally, OpenAI offers a Chrome browser plugin, allowing users to access ChatGPT features within their existing browser.
