Uniswap Labs Proposes Enabling Protocol Fees for v4 Pools

According to The Defiant, Uniswap Labs proposed on July 7 to extend protocol fees to Uniswap v4 pools. This would be a continuation of the UNIfication fee framework previously approved by the DAO under the new architecture. Snapshot voting will take place from July 7 to July 12, and on-chain voting is expected to begin during the week of July 13. The hooks mechanism in v4 allows for unlimited fee tiers, with pool fees adjustable on a per-block basis. As a result, the proposal introduces a new V4 Fee Controller system. The proposal aims to enable fees for three types of pools: static fee pools (without hooks), CCA auction pools, and aggregator hooks pools. Among these, aggregator hooks pools will have a fee cap of 250 basis points (10 basis points for regular chains, 3 basis points for Base).
