[OpenAI: Multiple Adjustments Made to GPT-5.6 After Consultations with the Trump Administration] Odaily Planet Daily News – OpenAI CEO Altman stated that before releasing the latest AI model to the public, the company made several adjustments following consultations with the Trump administration. Altman mentioned that in the weeks leading up to the full release of GPT-5.6, OpenAI engaged in collaborative, two-way communication with senior U.S. officials, including Commerce Secretary Luttig and Treasury Secretary Besant. Under pressure from the government to implement a phased release, the new model series was initially made available only to select partners. After OpenAI announced it had received approval from U.S. government leadership, GPT-5.6 was scheduled to be publicly released on Thursday. Altman did not elaborate on the specific adjustments OpenAI made during this process but noted that the government was testing the new model and identifying potential issues. 'I think as long as the process is understandable, fair, and swift, it’s a good thing. The government seems to genuinely align with these goals, and I guess the next time, with the next model, things will go more smoothly. We’ve understood the process better and are clearer on how to respond,' he said. (Jin10)
