[SpaceX Launched 1,589 Starlink Satellites in the First Half of the Year, Poised to Set Another Annual Record]
According to a report by Golden Finance, SpaceX's progress in deploying Starlink satellites has already surpassed last year's record-breaking levels. Based on launch data compiled by satellite tracking expert Jonathan McDowell, SpaceX sent 1,589 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit (LEO) in the first half of 2026, compared to 1,489 satellites deployed during the same period in 2025. In 2025, SpaceX deployed a record-breaking total of 3,180 Starlink satellites. Since the inception of the satellite constellation project, SpaceX has launched over 12,400 Starlink satellites, with nearly 11,000 of them still operating normally. To better understand these figures, consider Amazon's LEO service, which is still in its early stages: over the past 15 months, it has deployed only about 400 satellites, while its planned satellite constellation aims to reach a total of 3,232 satellites.
