Today, Grok 4.5 dropped, so I tried out the Grok CLI and found a few interesting things: 1️⃣ Grok CLI is designed to be compatible with Claude's Skill, Claude.md, rules, hooks, and MCP by default. This means if you were mainly using cc before, you can now switch to Grok seamlessly. Harness integrates directly, and the overall experience feels great. 2️⃣ Grok CLI comes with built-in commands for generating images and videos, plus the default X search functionality. Honestly, you can turn it into an API and use it directly—it’s more stable and user-friendly than using Grok via reverse proxy on the web. 3️⃣ After using Grok 4.5 for a bit, it feels more reliable and practical than GPT 5.5. Compared to Opus 4.8, there’s no noticeable difference—it’s definitely ready for prime time. The weekly quota for X premium+ subscriptions is also pretty generous. So, using Fable 5 for planning and Grok 4.5 as the executor can save a lot of cc quota.
