[Odyssey Malware Targets macOS Users, Stealing Wallets and Sensitive System Information]
According to monitoring by Moonlock Lab, the Odyssey malware targeting macOS platforms has surged recently, affecting users in over 100 countries. This variant can steal passwords, cookies, and autofill data from browsers such as Chrome, Brave, and Edge; extract wallet files from over 16 cryptocurrency applications including Electrum, Exodus, and Ledger Live; and compromise approximately 300 cryptocurrency extension IDs. It also obtains SSH keys, cloud service configurations, Keychain databases, Telegram and Discord data, and installs a persistent background service that launches at startup. Additionally, it replaces applications like Ledger, Trezor, and Exodus with trojanized versions capable of stealing assets. The C2 server addresses have been publicly disclosed.
