According to a report by The Information, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) sent an internal memo to prosecutors handling crypto cases in early June, warning that Binance might provide less cooperation in future cases. The memo stated that Binance could impose stricter requirements for asset freeze and seizure requests from law enforcement agencies.
In response, a Binance spokesperson said the company has not implemented any new procedures and that its cooperation with U.S. law enforcement agencies 'has not and will not change.' They emphasized that any claims about Binance reducing its cooperation with law enforcement are untrue. The report also mentioned that Binance is currently negotiating with the DOJ to formally conclude the independent monitoring program established after its 2023 criminal case, while the Treasury Department's monitoring program remains ongoing.
