[Oil Tanker Traffic in the Strait of Hormuz Has 'Essentially Halted'] Odaily Planet Daily News: As the 60-day ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran teeters on the brink, oil tanker traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has 'essentially halted.' Jorge León, head of geopolitical analysis at research firm Rystad, wrote in a report on Wednesday: 'So far today, traffic appears to have come to a complete standstill.' He added that this state of 'essential halt' 'better reflects the current risk expectations than any statements made by Washington or Tehran.' According to data from Kpler, only four oil tankers have passed through the strait so far today. Kpler senior oil analyst Navin Das stated that since the U.S. and Iran reached the 60-day ceasefire agreement on June 17, the average daily number of tankers passing through has been approximately 32. This figure is nearly three times the daily average during the period from the outbreak of the conflict (February) to the agreement on June 17, although it remains far below pre-conflict levels.
