[Former Twitter CISO Appointed as Chief Information Security Officer of Solana Foundation] Foresight News reports that security expert Michael Coates announced on the X platform that he has been appointed as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of the Solana Foundation, marking a new chapter in his career. Coates previously served as Mozilla's Head of Security, Twitter's CISO, and founded the startup Altitude Networks, which focused on enterprise SaaS data security. Altitude Networks was later acquired by CoinList, leading Coates into the crypto industry. Coates stated that he chose to join Solana because the chain currently handles daily stablecoin transaction volumes in the tens of billions of dollars, with daily transaction volumes surpassing those of most cryptocurrencies combined. He mentioned that his future work will focus on integrating security capabilities into industry operations and application security foundations, addressing the unique security challenges of cryptocurrencies, and collaborating with policymakers and standards organizations to advance cybersecurity regulations.
