The equipment crossed the Kármán line aboard the Falcon 9 rocket, utilizing the microgravity and ultra-clean vacuum environment of space to eliminate crystal growth defects caused by gravity, aiming to produce higher-purity and better-performing semiconductor materials. Besxar has signed a 12-flight consecutive testing agreement with SpaceX to rapidly iterate manufacturing processes and verify the safe return of semiconductor chips to Earth. If the technology matures, space could become a new link in the semiconductor supply chain, providing ultra-pure materials for chip manufacturing that cannot be produced on Earth.
