According to Wu Blockchain, Circle's Senior Director of EU Strategy and Policy, Patrick Hansen, cited provisional MiCA registration data from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), stating that one week after the full implementation of the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), the EU now has 21 authorized issuers of electronic money tokens (EMTs) from 12 countries, collectively issuing 35 EMTs in 8 different currencies. Hansen noted that France continues to lead other member states with 6 regulated issuers. Meanwhile, the number of asset-referenced token (ART) issuers remains at 0, and the number of crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) registered under MiCA has exceeded 270.
