[USDT to Return to the Bitcoin Network, UTEXO to Issue Bitcoin-Native USDT via RGB Protocol] BlockBeats News, July 7: Tether is preparing to issue USDT natively on the Bitcoin network based on the RGB v0.11.1 protocol, with UTEXO responsible for its commercial issuance and distribution. This marks the return of USDT to the Bitcoin mainchain after its initial launch on Bitcoin via the Omni protocol in 2014. UTEXO co-founder Viktor Ihnatiuk stated that the company has received support from Tether and is tasked with facilitating the implementation of Bitcoin-native USDT. The RGB protocol utilizes client-side validation combined with the Lightning Network, enabling USDT transactions that are instant, low-cost, and private while inheriting the Bitcoin UTXO security model. In the future, users will be able to hold USDT directly through native Bitcoin addresses and use Lightning Network wallets that support RGB to send and receive funds, eliminating the need for other public chains or intermediary service providers. Compared to the account-based networks where USDT primarily circulates today, such as TRON and Ethereum, RGB leverages the UTXO model's inherent support for one-time addresses and integrates with the Lightning Network for off-chain payments, significantly enhancing transaction privacy. Additionally, UTEXO's deep integration with Tether reduces intermediary fees and data collection. Users will also be able to use UTEXO's already-launched cross-chain bridge to convert USDT across different public chains at a low cost. [Original Link]
