[SpaceX Reportedly Testing Self-Developed Phone and Mobile Communication Network Plan]
According to The Wall Street Journal, SpaceX is exploring a larger-scale mobile phone and communication business. Investors have reportedly seen a prototype device resembling a phone, which is thinner than an iPhone and runs on a self-developed operating system. The report noted that during preparations for an IPO, SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell had mentioned the possibility of building a ground network to provide mobile services and considered collaborating with carriers. Currently, Starlink has partnered with T-Mobile and others to provide phone connectivity in remote areas. If SpaceX launches its own terminal and builds large-scale ground infrastructure in the future, it will further strengthen its business layout of connecting mobile devices directly via satellites and exert pressure on traditional telecom operators.
