According to the *Vietnam Law Newspaper*, Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security has disclosed updates on the ONUS cryptocurrency case. The Ministry's Security Investigation Agency (A09) stated that on March 23, 2026, a case was filed, and 8 defendants were prosecuted on charges including misappropriation of assets using computer networks, telecommunications networks, or electronic means, as well as money laundering. Authorities revealed that since 2018, those involved used cryptocurrencies and multiple 'ecosystem companies' to create circular transactions, attracting individual investments. The total amount of electronic currency sold to investors exceeded 70 trillion VND (approximately $26.8 million). So far, police have received over 2,000 reports, seized more than 350 kilograms of gold and silver, and blocked 8 real estate transactions worth 20 billion VND (approximately $7.7 million).
