‘Robinhood Chain is currently 10x faster than Base.’
@tokenterminal, as a professional crypto research institution, it’s really inappropriate to make such unprofessional and biased statements.
Looking at a single metric, the block time of @RobinhoodApp Chain (around 150ms) is indeed 10x faster than the regular block time of @base (2s). But does that mean Robinhood Chain is 10x faster than Base?
From an academically rigorous perspective, block time is a necessary but not sufficient condition. A faster block time doesn’t equate to faster transaction confirmation. As Ethereum L2s, both chains have two types of transaction confirmation times: soft confirmation (user-perceived) and hard confirmation (finality). The confirmation times for both are roughly the same, as they both require waiting for the one-week challenge period to end.
What’s being evaluated here is more about the user-perceived transaction confirmation time, i.e., soft confirmation. Base officially launched Flashblocks in July 2025, achieving soft confirmation through 200ms sub-blocks, delivering a sub-second transaction confirmation experience for users.
In conclusion, I have ample reason to believe that Token Terminal has a clear marketing bias and is selectively presenting information.
