[Allianz Analyst: The Fed May Have to Raise Interest Rates in September]
Jin10 News, July 3 – Allianz Chief Economist Ludovic Subran stated: 'The U.S. non-farm payroll data is actually weak, but I still believe the inflation rate will peak above 3.7%, and artificial intelligence, fiscal stimulus, and the energy sector are still supporting economic growth. The Federal Reserve may have to raise interest rates in September. I think this is the real divergence between the U.S. and Europe.'
Subran believes that following last month's rate hike, the European Central Bank will not take further action. 'That was an insurance-style rate hike, but based on current data, it seems to be behind us,' he said. 'The traumatic effects of the (Iran) war will take time to manifest, and the economy is still bearing the costs of the war, but the situation is much better now than it was a few weeks ago.'
