[Irish Authorities Recover 500 Bitcoins from Drug Dealer Clifton Collins' Lost Assets] According to The Block, the Irish Criminal Assets Bureau, with assistance from Europol, has recovered an additional 500 bitcoins, valued at approximately $31 million, from convicted drug dealer Clifton Collins. This brings the total recovered in the case to 1,500 bitcoins, with a total value exceeding $92 million. Collins originally held 6,000 bitcoins across 12 wallets, with the funds originating from growing and selling cannabis. He purchased the bitcoins between late 2011 and early 2012, when the price of bitcoin was only a few dollars. However, after being imprisoned in 2017, the rental property where his private keys were stored was cleared out, resulting in the loss of the keys.
