[Meta Responds to Mouse Tracking Software Review Results: Employee Data Not Used for AI Training]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on July 3, Meta's Chief Technology Officer Andrew Bosworth stated during an internal all-hands meeting that a review of a recent data security incident involving the company's controversial mouse tracking software revealed that no employee data was included in AI training datasets. Last month, Meta suspended the project—which tracked employees' mouse movements and digital activities to provide data for AI training—while investigating the potential leakage of sensitive data. He noted that if the company decides to resume the project after the review is completed, it will adopt a "voluntary opt-in" approach.
