According to a report by Jinse Finance, on July 2, SoftBank Group and SoftBank Corp. announced the establishment of a company tentatively named SB Neo Inc., which will operate a new cloud ("neocloud") business in the United States. SB Neo is scheduled to be established in the U.S. in July 2026, with SoftBank Corp. holding a 51% stake and its parent company, SoftBank Group, holding 49%.
The company will leverage the 10-gigawatt energy and AI infrastructure currently being developed by SoftBank Group to officially launch its new cloud services by the end of the 2027 fiscal year, providing large-scale AI model training and inference computing resources for major U.S. enterprises.
Additionally, to address the strong demand for AI computing power in the U.S. market, SB Neo will expand its service capacity in phases and plans to subsequently deploy a 10-gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure.
Reportedly, insiders have revealed that operating new cloud services in the U.S. could easily boost SoftBank Corp.'s annual operating profit by three to four times, reaching 3 trillion to 4 trillion yen (approximately $18.5 billion to $25 billion).
