[Fund Manager: Gulf Debt Issuance Rebounds After War Impact]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on July 1, Mehdi Popotte, Executive Director and Senior Fund Manager at Arqaam Capital, stated that after a brief disruption caused by the US-Iran conflict, debt issuance across almost all borrower categories in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region has rebounded. He noted that the pricing of new transactions has narrowed by 30 to 50 basis points compared to the initial pricing discussions. Popotte said that investor confidence has returned first through higher-risk bank capital instruments rather than safer senior debt, indicating that buyers are willing to re-enter the region before geopolitical risks are fully resolved.
