Neon announced on Tuesday that, after multiple rounds of bidding, the company successfully acquired the distribution rights to the film. Earlier this month, Amazon abruptly announced it would no longer distribute the film, despite having announced just months prior a $50 billion investment in OpenAI. At the time, Amazon stated that releasing *Artificial* through a different distributor would be more beneficial for the film's success. Neon revealed on Tuesday that *Artificial* is slated for release this year and will aim for this year's Academy Awards. The film narrates the events surrounding Sam Altman's removal and reinstatement as OpenAI's CEO in 2023.
