Germany's Unexpectedly Decreased Unemployment in June
According to Golden Finance, on June 30th, data released by the German labor department on Tuesday showed an unexpected decrease in the number of unemployed people in Germany in June. After seasonal adjustment, the number of unemployed people decreased by 1000, while economists had previously expected an increase of 7000. The total number of unemployed people without seasonal adjustment has dropped to 2.984 million, below the 3 million mark. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for June was 6.3%, unchanged from the previous month. Andrea Nahles, the head of the German labor department, stated in a statement that "there is almost no sign of change in the labor market. The number of unemployed people has only slightly decreased, while the number of employed people who pay social security continues to show a slight downward trend." Economists warn that the number of unemployed people may increase in the coming months as companies typically delay adjusting their employment decisions in the face of geopolitical shocks such as the Iran conflict. The total number of job vacancies registered by the labor department in June was 648000, an increase of 16000 compared to the same period last year.
