Wu Blockchain reports that Ethereum execution layer researcher Weiihann Ng has published a research paper titled *The Anatomy of Ethereum’s State Access*. The study analyzes state access patterns based on historical Ethereum mainnet data, providing data support for scalability solutions like Stateless Ethereum and State Expiry.
The report reveals that about 55% of state writes are rarely accessed again after creation, and state access is highly concentrated. Since 2022, the top 1% of accounts have accounted for approximately 96%–98% of read requests. The research suggests that layered state management could reduce node storage costs and improve network scalability.
