[Japan's Retail Sales Grow for Third Consecutive Month, Boosted by Wage Increases and Subsidies]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on June 29, Japan's retail sales in May achieved growth for the third consecutive month, driven by rising wages and government subsidies that eased living costs. Data released by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry on Monday showed that retail sales in May increased by 1.9% month-on-month, with April's data revised upward, also indicating strong growth momentum. This figure exceeded all expectations from Bloomberg's survey of economists. Compared to the same period last year, retail sales grew by 5.3%, surpassing the market's general expectation of a 3% increase. The above data has not been adjusted for inflation.
