According to Dawgen Global's interpretation of the consultation paper released by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) of Jamaica, the country plans to establish a formal licensing system for Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs). The public consultation period runs from June 11 to July 10, 2026. The proposed framework includes six types of VASP licenses, covering trading platforms, investment advisory, custody, brokerage, wallet services, and virtual asset exchange services. Applicants must meet requirements such as a minimum paid-up capital of 16 million Jamaican dollars (approximately $100,000 USD), local entity registration, and anti-money laundering compliance. Trading platforms and custodians will also need to submit independently audited proof of reserves at least quarterly. The rules are still in the consultation phase and will take effect only after the proposed VASP Act is passed. https://(wublock123.com)/news/jamaica-regulate-virtual-asset-service-providers-license-consultation-close-july-10-63613
