The whole GPT-5.6 / Fable 5 situation has opened a serious can of worms. I can't stop thinking about it. The questions nobody can answer yet: • Will only Americans get access to frontier models? • What will you need to hand over to get access - ID, passport, more? • Will governments start monitoring AI chats in the name of "security"? • Who decides which "customers" get approved, and on what basis? For years, AI was a race between labs. Now it's becoming a question of access, identity, and control. The irony is that AI progressed so fast that legislation couldn't keep up, and AI has become its own biggest bottleneck. We're watching the rules get written in real time.(Miles Deutscher)
