There has been discussion about merging our water agencies, but each one has a different role and responsibility.
The Water Resources Authority protects and regulates our water sources. The National Irrigation Commission manages irrigation water for farming. Rural Water Supply Limited builds community water systems to improve access in areas outside the utility network.
Each organisation serves a specific purpose, and it is important that we understand those roles when discussing the future of Jamaica’s water sector.(Andrew Holness)
