[Spanish Regulator Firmly Rejects Grace Period for EU MiCA Licensing]
According to Reuters, the chairman of Spain's market regulator CNMV, Carlos San Basilio, stated that no extensions or exemptions will be granted to crypto companies that fail to obtain a license during the EU MiCA regulation transition period. Relevant platforms must complete licensing or orderly exit the EU market by the end of June. CNMV is maintaining communication with platforms that have not yet been approved (including major exchanges like Binance), focusing on supervising their compliance and investor protection during the process of transferring client assets and funds to other service providers. San Basilio emphasized that users of unauthorized platforms will be prohibited from conducting new transactions and will not be entitled to investor protection under the MiCA framework.
