Analyst: The AI boom carries the risk of pushing up the inflation outlook
According to Golden Finance, on June 26th, James Bull, an analyst at RSM UK, stated in a report that fierce competition for storage chips has become apparent in consumer prices as investment in artificial intelligence continues to increase. Both Apple and Microsoft have now issued price increase notices, confirming the industry's response to supply chain shortages. It is expected that by 2026 alone, the four largest technology companies in the United States will spend $725 billion on data centers and AI equipment. This level of demand for storage chips has caused a shortage that the supply chain cannot keep up with. It is now clear that the cost of building an AI economy is being passed on to consumers, and may even be passed on to the inflation outlook, with industry leaders suggesting that shortages may continue beyond 2028.
