Major European stock indices open lower, German DAX index down 0.6%

Odaily Planet Daily reports that Gate data shows the Euro Stoxx 50 index opened down 0.4%, the German DAX index down 0.6%, the UK FTSE 100 index down 0.2%, and the French CAC40 index down 0.2%.
