Claude Code Update Leaks Fable 5 Will Return in Weekly Quota Mode According to Beating monitoring, the whistleblower @ synthwavedd found that the update package contains multiple state prompts indicating that the strongest cutting-edge model Claude Fable 5 is preparing to return, while decompiling and analyzing the latest version v2.1.190 of the Anthropic command-line AI assistant Claude Code. Unlike the previous version 2.186, which classified Fable 5 as a separate usage credit, the latest code has removed the description of time limited inclusion and introduced a weekly allocation model. The latest added code shows that when the user reaches the limit, the client will prompt "Used up the included Fable 5 usage limit this week" and prompt to run/sage credits to continue using. Fable 5 was briefly released as Anthropic's "Mythos class" frontier model in early June this year, but was subsequently discontinued globally due to export security restrictions imposed by the US government and national security concerns. Analysis suggests that the underlying state update of Claude Code means that Anthropic is making technical preparations. Once policy permission or authorization is granted, this top-level inference model can be quickly reopened to global users through a combination mechanism of binding subscriptions and weekly limits.
