Serenity mentioned in a post that Tianfu Communication's stock price rose by over 3.9% in a short period of time BlockBeats News: On June 24th, Japanese semiconductor testing equipment giant Advantest (TSE: 6857) announced a partnership with silicon photonics chip company OpenLight to jointly develop high production testing solutions for silicon photonics devices. The background is the continuous expansion of AI and high-performance computing workloads, driving data centers to accelerate the adoption of silicon photonics and co packaged optics (CPO) technology, which has led to structural bottlenecks in the mass production testing of optoelectronic devices. OpenLight has previously raised a total of $84 million in funding, with the latest round A-1 raising $50 million. Serenity commented that OpenLight's ecosystem is continuously expanding, and its open market partner network is quite complete, covering Jabil Technologies (JBL, partnering with SIVE to promote the scaling of photonic integrated circuits), MRVL and MaxLinear (MXL) providing DSP, TSEM responsible for wafer foundry, and TFC Optical (Tianfu Communication, optical packaging and assembly). Serenity pointed out that for non qualified investors, although they cannot directly invest in private companies such as OpenLight, given the highly interconnected optical industry chain, by laying out the above-mentioned listed companies, they can also indirectly gain exposure to the growth of the silicon photonics track. This cooperation will enable Edwan Testing and Teradyne Photon 100 to compete head-on in the electro-optical testing layer, further intensifying the competitive situation of the duopoly pattern of semiconductor automatic testing equipment.
