[South Korean Presidential Office: Samsung and SK Hynix Chip Cluster Plan Nearing Completion] According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on June 24, citing Jin10 Data, Kim Yong-beom, Director of Policy at the South Korean Presidential Office, stated on June 24 that the plans by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix to establish a new semiconductor cluster have entered the final stages of discussion. Once finalized, the details will be officially announced to the public. Kim Yong-beom pointed out that due to the explosive growth in demand for chips driven by the artificial intelligence industry, the construction timeline for the existing Yongin semiconductor cluster by the two companies will be significantly accelerated. Among them, SK Hynix plans to build four wafer fabs in Yongin and is currently discussing advancing the completion date of the fourth fab from the originally planned 2044 to 2034.
