[Tools for Humanity Executives Co-founded by OpenAI CEO Accused of Misappropriating Company Funds to 'Prop Up the Market']
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on June 24, Tools for Humanity, co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, initiated two investigations led by external law firms. These investigations focus on alleged improper use of funds by executives and potential violations in its Thailand operations. Executives at the company have been accused of approving payments of millions of dollars to a foreign company. The funds were not used for normal business procurement or service fees but were allegedly intended to artificially inflate the market price of its cryptocurrency, Worldcoin. Additionally, Tools for Humanity's partner in Thailand has been revealed to be an internationally wanted suspect involved in "pig-butchering" scams. Meanwhile, regulatory agencies in multiple countries have raised serious concerns about Tools for Humanity's iris scanning and data collection practices.
