[Suspected Arbitrage Attack on ATM/WBNB Liquidity Pool on PancakeSwap, Approximately 1,604 WBNB Stolen] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on-chain security monitoring indicates that the ATM/WBNB liquidity pool on PancakeSwap's BNB Chain token appears to have been attacked. The attacker manipulated the liquidity pool's reserve data to carry out an arbitrage attack, stealing approximately 1,604 WBNB, valued at around $950,000. Security analysis shows that this attack did not involve flash loans. The attacker called the sync() function of the PancakeSwap liquidity pool, causing a discrepancy between the pool's reserve data and its actual balance. Subsequently, they executed swaps at abnormal prices, exploiting the false pricing to exchange and withdraw assets, ultimately extracting all WBNB liquidity from the trading pool.
