Apple Wallet Digital ID May Become a New Tool for Claude Identity Verification

According to 9to5Mac, the Apple Wallet digital ID feature introduced on iPhone may potentially be used by Anthropic for nationality and identity verification in its Claude model. Previously, due to new export controls imposed by the U.S. government and jailbreak risks discovered in Fable 5 and Mythos 5, these two models have been shut down for all foreign users. The report indicates that if Anthropic can verify access is limited to U.S. citizens, the related models may resume service. Given that Anthropic has already integrated Apple's age verification API, external speculation suggests that in urgent compliance scenarios, it may prioritize using Apple Wallet digital IDs over third-party identity verification services.
