[Ming-Chi Kuo: Google Develops Revised TPU v9 Chip, MediaTek Secures Additional Orders] According to a report by Golden Finance on June 22, Tianfeng International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's latest industry survey reveals that Google will develop an upgraded version of the v9 chip, possibly codenamed Triggerfish, based on TPU v9/Humufish. MediaTek has exclusively secured this higher-priced additional order. While the estimated shipment volume for Humufish remains unchanged at 4–5 million units during its lifecycle, Google has placed an additional order for 1–2 million Triggerfish units, with production expected to begin by the end of 2027 and ramp up in 2028. Since the unit price of Triggerfish is approximately 30% higher than that of Humufish, it is expected to contribute to MediaTek's operational momentum as an incremental driver in 2028.
