The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), representing over 1,200 tech companies, has sent a letter to bipartisan Senate leaders urging the Senate to swiftly advance and pass the CLARITY Act to establish a clearer federal regulatory framework for the digital asset industry. CTA stated that regulatory uncertainty is impacting corporate compliance, product launches, and long-term investment planning. They emphasized that open-source software developers and self-custody technologies should not be treated as financial intermediaries simply for creating tools. CTA believes that with other jurisdictions accelerating the establishment of digital asset regulations, the U.S. needs to advance market structure legislation quickly to maintain competitiveness.
