[U.S. Intelligence Agencies Warn: Israel May Undermine U.S.-Iran Agreement]
Odaily Planet Daily reports, citing multiple current and former U.S. officials via The Washington Post, that several U.S. intelligence agencies have issued warnings to the Trump administration: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may take actions to disrupt Trump's efforts to reach a long-term peace agreement with Iran. Netanyahu is currently under significant domestic political pressure and has had to continue military operations in Lebanon.
A U.S. official who reviewed the intelligence report revealed that the latest U.S. intelligence assessment concluded: with domestic elections looming this fall, Netanyahu's ability to retain his position as prime minister hinges on proving to the Israeli public that he will not withdraw troops from Lebanon and is determined to escalate the conflict with Hezbollah.
The U.S. intelligence report also noted that Israel is deeply dissatisfied with the terms of Trump's peace memorandum of understanding, as the agreement undermines Israel's core objectives. (Jin10)
