The Ethereum L2 network Base has deployed the second network upgrade Beryl to the Base Sepolia test network and plans to activate it on the main network on June 25th. This upgrade will introduce the B20 token standard, which can be used to issue stablecoins and other assets directly in the Base node software. B20 is compatible with ERC-20 and supports functions such as signature authorization, casting destruction, supply limit, transfer strategy, and freezing/seizure.
