Why is storage the most certain track? You can see it from UBS's latest semiconductor report in mid-June. This is probably the most optimistic forecast for semiconductor revenue in the current market. UBS predicts global semiconductor revenue will reach $1.62 trillion by 2026, with the storage segment hitting $960 billion. Meanwhile, Gartner's earlier forecast was $1.32 trillion in total semiconductor revenue by 2026, with the storage segment at $630 billion. Both essentially confirm one thing: by 2026, storage will account for at least half of total semiconductor revenue, and by 2027, the proportion will be even larger. This was also a topic discussed on Tuesday's Space: https://(x.com)/qinbafrank/status/2067519756882833815?s=46&t=k6rimWsEbo2D2tXolYcM-A.
Note: UBS here refers to CPUs in the narrow sense of traditional x86 central processors (mainly Intel + AMD's PC/Server CPUs).
