Don’t have any illusions about the Fed. I won’t talk about the past, but right now it’s just a case of throwing stones and barking dogs.
The overall situation is that interest rates are too high, they want to cut rates.
There’s too much money, they want to shrink the balance sheet.
But inflation hasn’t come down, so they can’t cut.
Shrinking the balance sheet might heavily impact the stock market, and the stock market can’t crash.
It’s basically a ‘figure it out as we go’ situation. Don’t talk about long-term plans—there aren’t any.
